Year 6 - Dinawan - Mrs Joanne Malmo
The Year 6 students are off to a flying start as they settle into their final year of primary school. They are already displaying the behaviours of fine leaders and we look forward to seeing them grow into these roles as the year progresses.
Our English unit is focusing on the novel, 'The Wild Robot'. and all learning is based on this amazing narrative. The students will be learning how to write a science fiction narrative using a variety of literary devices. In maths, we are currently working with large numbers, and we will use this knowledge as we study the solar system in science.
Our creative arts unit will also see the students creating models of the solar system using a variety of techniques.
In health, we are looking at the impacts of bullying through the eyes of a character named, Jack, in the novel, 'I Am Jack'. Our history unit will explore migration to Australia.
This year is promising to be a fun and exciting time for all year 6 students anticipation of the arrival of the Year 6 shirts is building.
