Welcome to Year 3/4 .
Year 3/4 consists of 26 wonderful students.
We have had a wonderful start to the school year! We’ve been happy to be in our new classroom and everyone has quickly adapted to new routines and expectations.
In English, we have begun reading (and loving!) the novel ‘The Thing About Oliver’ by Deborah Kelly. The novel will be used to deepen our understanding of narratives. This week, we were all able to rewrite the beginning of the story from another character’s point of view. In Maths, we have been exploring our number system and using place value to read and partition numbers.
In Science and Technology this term, we are learning about the Sun, Earth and Moon. We were able to demonstrate our knowledge of the ‘branching method’ by writing multiple choice questions about the Sun using Google forms. We enjoyed sharing our quizzes on Google classroom and trying out the quizzes of others.
In Geography this term, we are learning how places are similar and different and began by labelling a map of Australia and mapping some of Australia’s important natural features.
Students of 3/4 Garru will visit the school library every Tuesday afternoon to borrow books. Students have been given a reading log which should be returned every Tuesday.
Don’t forget to connect to Facebook and the SENTRAL Calendar so you don’t miss any of the student work or information posted!
