2024 Kindergarten & Year 1 class is made up of 14 students.
Yugay class of Kindergarten/Year 1 are enjoying their learning and being together for many fun activities. They have settled into the routines of school and come prepared and ready for the school day.
There are lots of new things to learn. In English we have been learning all about context and how our context now is about beginnings, making friends and new things. In addition, we have explored all about families, who makes up a family, the different types of families and things we do with our family.
We are moving on to narratives and learning that stories have a beginning, middle and end, including when there is a problem in a story and how that complication or problem is solved.
In Maths our focus is about how we sort objects and that patterns have something that repeats over and over again. We are also discovering shapes, numbers to 20, how to write them and show them too.
In History our topic unit is Families, which links to our English unit, and this helps consolidate our learning. The class has a social and emotional learning session each fortnight called You Can Do It program, where we learn the skills of confidence, resilience, getting along, persistence and organisation.
These are a sample of the activities and learning in our class, as well as Library, technology and leaving ourselves some time to play sport and PE.
