Lunch and Learn
At Henty Public School, the Lunch and Learn Program gives students hands-on experience with healthy eating and food preparation. Every Wednesday, a different class picks fresh produce from our school garden and uses it to make tasty, nutritious meals in the school kitchen. All students get to enjoy this special lunch during Lunch 1 on Wednesdays. Students will still require food packed for Lunch 2.
Cooking
Students prepare delicious meals with Kazzie in the kitchen every week, learning a range of new skills such as chopping, mixing, measuring and following recipes. This hands-on experience helps build confidence, encourages teamwork and teaches the importance of healthy eating.
Gardening
With Mrs Bullock, students tend to and harvest fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from our school garden. They learn how to plant, water, care for and pick produce to gain better understanding of sustainability and where their food comes from.
Lunch orders
Lunch orders are available on Fridays for Lunch 1 from the Henty Bakery. Orders must be submitted to the school or directly to the bakery by Thursday.
